Kyle Orton to Get Another Shot

Another week, another new quarterback for the Chicago Bears. With Rex Grossman expected to miss the remainder of the NFL season, coach Lovie Smith has named Kyle Orton as next week's starting quarterback.

Kyle Orton started 15 games in his rookie year of 2005, but hasn't played since the season finale two years ago.

It is a bit surprising that Smith named Orton the starter over veteran Brian Griese, but he explained why as follows.

"Brian has done a lot of good things. We'll just try to see exactly what Kyle can do," Smith said, adding that Orton gave the Bears the best chance to win against the Vikings.

Whether Orton can provide the floundering Bears with a spark remains to be seen. On Monday night under the bright lights of the Metrodome, he'll get his shot once again.
